Energy Chemical Engineering

   The Energy Engineering program was established in 2012, to meet the need of rapid development in the energy demand of China, with an emphasis on energy planning, engineering, process design, control and operations.

   The core courses of the curriculum include gas transmission & distribution, gas combustion and utilization, natureal gas exploitation, LNG technology and cryogenic energy utilization, clean energy technologies, gas turbine, petrochemical and gas engineering, enhanced heat transfer engineering, air conditioning & refrigeration, energy material, etc. Careers include process engineers, consultants, technical service engineers, and research & development engineers in industries such as gas companies, engineering consulting firms, gas appliances manufactures, energy investment companies and academic institutions. Students can also find positions with the government, customs and public safety departments, etc.

Program Aims

   The program is designed not only to disseminate theoretical and latest knowledge of the discipline, but also to cultivate high-level students who are equipped with a theoretical foundation and experimental skills in the field of energy engineering and related disciplines; who have the capacity in applying chemical experiment techniques and computers skills to undertake scientific researches on synthesis, characterization and application in the field of energy materials. The graduates will also be qualified to be engaged in research and teaching in research institutes and institutions of higher learning.

   Drawing on the sophisticated teaching and research facilities as well as rich experience of the professors with extraordinary research power, the program puts much premium on the cultivation of students' innovative and analytical thinking and ability, encouraging students to participate in research project with a view to acquiring hands-on experience under the guidance of professors.
